Crocodile Grower
Feeding chicken carcasses, raw fish and red meat to crocodiles in commercial grow-out systems is at last something of the past. AQUANUTRO’s CROCODILE GROWER is an extruded pellet-type feed especially designed for the young, growing Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus). The ingredient balance of this diet is precisely calculated for high digestibility, resulting in more hygienic conditions grow-out systems - because crocodiles usually consume their food in the water, it becomes polluted and, in extreme cases, septic. Therefore the use of highly digestible and water-stable feed improves hygiene and decreases stress and general disease problems. The optimally balanced Ca:P ratio of the diet may reduce the occurrence of osteomalacia. It is a tasty and highly palatable feed with a good feeding response. Other advantages include:

  • A carefully-balanced amino acid profile ensures maximum growth through the grow-out phase to shorten the period till market age: thus cost-effective production.
  • The optimum protein/energy ratio in the diet ensures true 'protein sparing' and a better feed conversion ratio (FCR).
  • Pellets remains fresh longer than traditional food. Anti-fungal agents minimize bacterial growth in a warm feeding environment, and therefore reduce the possibility of Salmonella contamination.
  • Extrusion causes gelatinisation and dextrinisation, increasing the availability of carbohydrates as energy source.
  • Better physical pellet quality with lower dust-levels reduces wastage (typically less than 1% during manufacture) and improves feed management.
  • An extended pellet size range (3 - 20 mm) for every growth stage to ensure the correct intake of daily nutrients.
